Rednesday Buttons

Happy Happy Rednesday!

I didn't think I would be joining you today.  I'm up to my eyeballs in garage sale pricing and it's crunch time!  I plan to set-up tomorrow, working around my son's two baseball games.  Lucky for me (not so lucky for him) this morning dear son had to get up at 5:00AM to go to school and lift weights.  Once he was up, so was I.  Which leaves me with extra time to post today!

I LOVE BUTTONS!!!!  So, here's my jar of REDS + a few yellows and oranges.

Now compare with this little jar (a pint) of purples, blues and greens.  It's obvious I love my REDS!

I display my buttons all around the house.  Here are my blacks and browns.

They are displayed in a handmade tray along with some rose hips and my RED scoop!

And finally my whites.  These are really large jars.  The one on the left is all shell buttons.  I was very lucky at an auction and got the entire jar for a couple of dollars!  The middle jar is basic white shirt buttons.  The last jar is a mish mash.  Notice my RED bench!

Make sure to head over to Sue Loves Cherries.  Sue is our wonderful Rednesday host where you'll find many more RED goodies!

  1. Button, Button, You've really got some buttons!
They are like little jewels aren't they? I love the peek of that Hoosier Cabinet. Good luck with the yard sale!

  2. I love the way you've chosen to display your button collection. Some people might have just "stored" their buttons but you are truly displaying them beautifully.
Too bad FL isn't closer to Iowa....I would stop by for the garage sale...lol.
I'm a Pisces and I love The Shawshank Redemption movie, too.

  3. Oh my!! I love love buttons too. I have very fond memories of playing for hours with my grandmother's buttons that she had. I used to get different size buttons and make them a 'family'. I was only 4 years old but still remember that time I played with her buttons. I adore you buttons too and love how you displayed them

  4. Oh! I want a button collection too! I'm so envious. What a lovely collection you have and I love the way you've displayed them, the containers are all as wonderful as the treasure inside.

    Happy Rednesday!

  5. Wow what a great collection. I used to play with my mom's collection. She was a seamstress and she kept them in empty cookie tin boxes.

  6. You've got a really great way of displaying your button collection Shelley! I love the huge jar of red ones, and that tray of buttons, but I think my favorite is actually the white ones!
Thanks for not showing what you're selling at your garage sale. If it's vintage stuff, it would drive us all nuts to see it and not be able to go to your sale!
    Happy REDnesday!

  7. Awesome! I like the jar that the reds are in! I happen to have a big zinc-lid jar just like that for my white buttons, too!
